Fresh is...

Fresh is a nomadic one-day festival of new work in performance, video and installation.

Fresh was started by Richard Kingdom in 2005 while in residence at South Hill Park, Bracknell with Demonstrate theatre company. The first Fresh festival was held over two days at South Hill Park in May 2005.

Since then, Fresh has grown rapidly into a region-wide initiative supporting and presenting new work from emerging companies right through to internationally respected artists.

Fresh aims to present innovative, experimental and compelling new performance, video and installation work to a broad audience, develop new work through flexible and adaptable approaches that are responsive to the needs of individual artists, and nurture a network of venues, audiences and artists.

It's events generally 'take-over' host venues, locating performances in otherwise unused spaces and creating a 'buzz' that invites audiences to share Freshs' excitement for new work.

With each event, Fresh aims to support the development of new work, organising residencies for artists at host venues, assisting with Arts Council applications and providing technical support.

Fresh is currently a selector event for the National Review of Live Art's Elevator programme.
